Managed Aquifer Recharge
Managed Aquifer Recharge
Managed Aquifer Recharge is the intentional recharge of an aquifer by some means such as enhancing infiltration or a Class V well. The stored water is not designated for a particular purpose other than to replenish the partially depleted aquifer. The District initiated a managed aquifer recharge study in 2021. The study indicated that the Seymour Aquifer will likely respond well to managed aquifer recharge. The District is moving forward with designing and installing a managed aquifer recharge facility which will be the first of its kind in Texas.
