Water Quality
Water Quality
Please contact the District to make arrangements for water quality testing. The District can provide basic water quality testing services but is not a certified laboratory. We prefer to sample wells ourselves but can accept samples from you if they meet certain guidelines as stated below.
- Notify the District that you will be bringing in a water sample.
- Plan to take the sample in the morning so there is adequate time to run the tests that day.
- Use a new distilled water gallon jug that has been emptied for transporting the sample to us.
- Take the sample as close as possible to the well, prior to any water softener or other treatment and storage.
- Turn the well on and let water run (to the ground) for at least 10 minutes prior to obtaining the sample. You may need to open a second tap to prevent the well from cycling off during this period.
- Fill the jug to the top and cap securely.
- Transport the sample to the office immediately.
